Summary

Many screen readers like JAWS or NVDA have shortcuts to bring up a list of landmarks, headings or links. This browser extension provides the same functionality without requiring a screen reader.

This is mainly useful for two audiences:

  • Sighted web developers who want to get a feeling for how blind users might experience their content.
  • Sighted users who like this kind of navigation.
Usage

Pressing Ctrl+Shift+7 brings up a dialog. You can use the up/down arrow keys to select a list. With the tab key you can switch to the actual list and navigate it with arrow keys.

User reviews
I love this addon cause enables a dev to navigate page contents as a screen-reader user. Great for a11y and accessibility development!

Thanks for this extension. I was using Headings map before FF Quantum, your extension is different but with aria landmarks, and it's very usefull.

Very useful! Currently suffers from a couple of bugs. It uses the same shortcut (CMD/CTRL-7) as switching to the seventh tab; it will thus do both. To use the extension, you need to call it from a window with less than 7 tabs, or to have your content on this tab already. Also, calling the shortcut more than once will show the UI again on top of the existing view.
