Beta Watch: Parental Monitoring and Control is a Firefox add-on developed by Team Beta for CS 4310, Software Engineering I. It connects to a websocket to request blacklist, whitelist, and security level updates, blocking and logging websites accordingly. The last known blacklist is enforced if the websocket connection fails.

Analyze keywords

This addon connects to a websocket and requests the blacklist, whitelist, and security level every 15 seconds. Websites specified in the blacklist are always blocked. The addon also saves the blacklist after the browser is closed, so if it fails to connect to the websocket the last known blacklist is enforced.

Depending on the security level, websites specified on the whitelist are logged and/or blocked.
