Black New Tab is a simple yet effective Firefox add-on that instantly changes your new tab page to a minimalistic black. However, it's worth noting that due to the existing Firefox Add-On functionalities, it doesn't shift your browser's focus to the Awesome Bar. This feature is likely to be included if and when it becomes technically feasible.
