What is Characters Counter?
Characters Counter is a Firefox add-on that allows you to easily find out the number of characters in a selected text by simply right-clicking it. Inspired by the Chrome Extension '45to75', this add-on adds this useful feature to Firefox, saving you time and effort in counting characters.

Works ok but if you highlight text in a form it shows the result of the last selection on the actual page. I don't think I'll ever find an extension that can access unsubmitted data.
