Copy True Link is a Firefox add-on that adds a context menu item to easily copy the actual URL of a link, as shown at the status bar. This ensures you get the true URL, even if websites are faking the information displayed.

When you hover on a link the browser shows its URL at the status bar. But a lot of sites are faking this info. That is, if you will click on the link or copy its URL then you will get not what displayed at the status bar.
This add-on adds new context menu item called "Copy True Link". By pressing it, the actual URL (as displayed at the status bar) will be copied to your clipboard.
User reviews
Works as it states. Only one to do so, as far as I have tested. Not so sure about it wanting "Access your data for all websites" permission.
I believe the "Input data to the clipboard" permission should be enough.
Works! It was so hard to find something that does this. I **hate** this trend of having a human-shown link but actually making the link do something else. There are lots of plugins that remove redirects, but none of them that I found let me just copy the real link.
My kids school uses "smore" which is some obnoxious thing that tracks every link, and I couldn't even just copy and save the correct url for a future event without this Copy True Link plugin. Thanks so much for this!
Copy True Link is risky to use as it requires a number of sensitive permissions that can
potentially harm your browser and steal your data. Exercise caution when installing this
add-on. Review carefully before installing. We recommend that you only
install
Copy True Link
if you trust the publisher.
Risk likelihood
Copy True Link has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.
