Summary
For some specific applications, like video or image creation, the color management that Firefox does in concert with the operating system can be problematic, especially on macOS.
This extension makes it easy to flip the necessary preferences to make sure you are seeing images and video without any color modifications from Firefox or the operating system.
When color pass-through is enabled, Firefox does not make any changes to images or videos before they are passed to the operating system. When color pass-through is disabled, Firefox will use color management to attempt to correct colors in images and video.
This extension needs to "Access your data for all websites" so that it can add some JavaScript so websites can detect the extension. You can see the code we add at https://github.com/mkaply/extended_color_management/blob/main/content-script.js.
