What is German dictionary (de_AT)?
German dictionary (de_AT) is an add-on which provides an optimized spelling dictionary in Austrian German for use in Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey. It is the Hunspell version of the igerman98 dictionary, compatible with updated Mozilla versions. The add-on also assists in successful dictionary installation in Thunderbird.

Dies ist das für Firefox 3, Thunderbird 3 und Seamonkey 2 optimierte Rechtschreib-Wörterbuch für Deutsch mit österreichischen Schreibweisen (de-AT, Österreich, "neue" Rechtschreibung). Es ist die Hunspell-Version des igerman98-Wörterbuchs. Hunspell-Wörterbücher sind nicht kompatibel mit Myspell, weshalb dieses Wörterbuch ausschließlich mit den neueren Mozilla-Versionen funktioniert; für die alten Mozilla-Versionen sollten auch die älteren Wörterbuch-Addons benutzt werden. Für Thunderbird 65-Benutzer, wo das Wörterbuch vielleicht nicht mehr geht: aus den Thunderbird-Release-Notes:

DICTIONARY SUPPORT: Only WebExtension dictionaries are supported now. Please download new dictionaries from addons.mozilla.org since addons.thunderbird.net still provides "legacy" dictionaries compatible with Thunderbird 60 ESR. This may change as soon as Thunderbird 60 ESR can also handle WebExtension dictionaries (planned for version 60.5).
