With this Firefox add-on, you can hover over any link to view it in a nested tooltip, enabling you to find information without breaking your flow. It loads the mobile version of websites for fast and focused browsing and can be enabled or disabled easily. Try it out on Wikipedia or customize the settings. How is this not a default feature?!!? Seriously: I hunted for this or a similar hover/preview add-on. This is perfect! Exactly what I envisioned! The hovered previews have scrollbars, they are nested, you can easily move back to the nested level you wish to.... Perfect. :)
