2021-12-02 DaddyCool HTTPZ, IMO built on my experience, remains at this time the best HTTP to HTTPS manager. The 'HTTPS Everywhere' extension is bound to vanish given 1- increasing number of HTTPS domains, 2- browsers' built-in HTTPS-Only mode. I've used 'HTTPS Everywhere' in its EASE Mode and it is far more practical than Firefox's HTTPS-Only mode, but then unnecessarily heavy database when HTTPZ will "think" by itself yet let the user intervene right from the urlbar. Firefox's HTTPS-Only mode is not satisfactory IMO : Browser's 'padlock > HTTPS-Only mode>On/Off/Off temporarily' doesn't appear when a site successfully opened in HTTPS ... but some pages need nevertheless HTTP to display correctly (try i.e. les-verbes.com) which then requires that the user open 'HTTPS-Only Mode' in Firefox's about:preferences#privacy ... cumbersome. Moreover HTTPS-Only Mode is incompatible with the FPI (First-party Isolation) feature. HTTPZ is indeed smart. Not updated but continues to work perfectly. It's just the best approach, well thought, well carried out.
