Here is an unofficial addon for the Pocket service, whose goal is to bring some Pocket superpowers back to your browser. If you loved the old Pocket addon, you should love InMyPocket!
"In My Pocket" is an unofficial Firefox add-on designed to enhance the Pocket experience by restoring features lost in the transition to a new interface. Developed by a long-term Firefox and Pocket user, it aims to provide additional functionalities and reliability, with a commitment to improvement based on user feedback. The add-on's source code is available on GitHub, and users can engage with the developer via Twitter or the contact form. A public roadmap details future updates.

As a long term Firefox and Pocket user, I felt lost when Pocket replaced their Firefox addon with a "save to pocket" button. No solution emerged from the Firefox community, so I decided to go for it and start developing this Pocket addon myself.
I've got a limited amount of time to work on this, so please bear with me. I'll be doing my best to improve it and make it as reliable and useful as I can. For bug reports or suggestions, feel free to send me a message over Twitter (@pabuisson) or via the contact form. I've also published a public roadmap on Trello, of what I intend to work on in the upcoming weeks/months.
Eventually, you can find the source code over on Bitbucket. Pull requests, bug reports and suggestions are very welcome :)

This extension makes the default Mozilla "Save to Pocket" button look like it was written on Scratch by a 6 yo (no offense to Scratch users). It's an *outstanding* example of pushing the WebExtensions API envelope beyond its capabilities, something only a capable and brilliant software engineer can do. Being a SW engineer myself, I'm fully aware of the difficulties of this. Bugs, syntax errors and random runtime exceptions are the bane of all developers.
It seems Mr. Buisson is experiencing one of those atm, as his intro to this extension states. But he obviously takes his work seriously and cares about his end-users, a rare and admirable trait, and I commend him. I would *still* recommend this add-on to anyone who loves Pocket and dislikes the simplistic excuse of an extension that serves as the service's default. Merci beaucoup, Pierre-Adrien! (I hope I spelled that right)
My French is sadly appalling, but you deserve no less than my best effort and expressing my gratitude in your language!
Use it everyday since it was first launched. I love the bookmarking button that also tells me if a page has been bookmarked, and the easy access to pocket through the dropdown is priceless. Thank you!
