This extension allows you to save a link to a web page. The available formats are: - .desktop (Desktop Entry) - .URL (Internet Shortcut) - .webloc (Website Location) There are already 2 other extensions that do the same thing: "deskCut" et "SaveLink". The main differences with the latter are: - Manual choice of formats. - Preservation of the original name (only with the .desktop format). - This is a "no restart" extension. Note: On Windows, files are treated as if they were downloaded and must be unblocked.
lcwmcfpon requires very minimum permissions and is relatively safe to use.

I can't get this to work. I'm on Windows, latest Firefox. Everytime I right-click and select "Create .url link", I get the error message "Filename must not contain illegal characters". Config options were vanilla (unchanged from defaults). For good measure, I clicked "Reset options", still not working. I experimented with any config option that looked like it might fix it, but no luck. The page URLs I was experimenting with were simple, such as https://www.virtualcreations.com.au
