This is the official add-on for easier access to LEOs Online Dictionaries. Select any word or phrase, right-click on the selection and translate from/to English, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese and Polish to/from German.

What is LEO Dictionaries?
LEO Dictionaries is a Firefox add-on that offers you the ease of translating words or phrases directly through your browser's context menu. This extension uses LEOs Online Dictionaries and supports translations between English, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, and German. It is customisable, allowing you to select the dictionaries you need and set the mode to display translation results.

Summary
Analyze keywords

This add-on extends the context menu on text selections. It will give you an option to translate selected words or phrases with the help of LEOs Online Dictionaries. Simply select the word(s) or phrases for which you require a translation and right-click on the selection to open the context menu. From there, select the appropriate dictionary.

LEOs Online Dictionaries offers translations for these language pairs:

  • English<->German
  • French<->German
  • Spanish<->German
  • Italian<->German
  • Chinese<->German
  • Russian<->German
  • Portuguese<->German
  • Polish<->German
The add-on can be configured to only show those dictionaries that you need. Simply deselect the unwanted dictionaries in the add-on properties. If only one dictionary is enabled, this dictionary will show up in the context menu. If you have more than one dictionary enabled, a "Translate" Menu will be shown in the context menu which holds all enabled dictionaries. You can also configure the add-on to open the results either in:
  • ... a new window
  • ... a new background-tab
  • ... a new tab
