"New Tab Homepage" is a straightforward, practical add-on that simplifies your tabbed browsing experience on Firefox. Upon the creation of a new tab, this extension ensures your homepage, or your first homepage if you have multiple, is loaded automatically. It's designed to be a lighter alternative to other extensions like Tab Mix, Tabbrowser Preferences or Tabbrowser Extensions offering the same feature, making your browsing quicker and more efficient.

Please note, I am aware of the problem of the cursor being placed in the location / URL bar, at the start of the URL. I have filed bug 1411465 for this issue, which needs a Firefox / API fix. Unless anyone has any bright ideas, it seems I can't do much about this from the add-on right now.
Add-on details
A very simple tabbed browsing extension that loads your homepage when you open a new tab. If you have multiple homepages, the first is chosen.
This is meant to be a lightweight alternative to using Tab Mix, Tabbrowser Preferences or Tabbrowser Extensions for this single feature.
If you're using one of those, you do not need this extension and it most likely will not work even if you install it! In this case, you should use the in-built options in whichever tabbed browsing extension that you use.

the number of permissions (and amount of private data it harvests from you in the process) is as insane as it is unnecessary for the small amount of work it needs to do under the hood. there are alternatives you can use that require no permissions beyond reading your browser settings
pourquoi c'est si difficile de faire ouvrir une fucking page d'accueil? toujours quelque chose à intaller pas compliqué ouvrir la fucking page qu'on demande d'ouvrir!
Been using this plugin since FF did out with the "browser.newtab.url" flag in about:config.
I understand FF did out with that flag because it was an easy target for malware, but I'll never understand why "homepage" isn't an option for the new tab page. This plugin adds such an obvious feature.
Thank you for developing this.
