Old Reddit Redirect

Ensure Reddit always loads the old design

Old Reddit Redirect - Firefox Add-On

"Old Reddit Redirect" is a Firefox add-on designed for individuals who prefer the old Reddit format. This add-on ensures that any time a user accesses Reddit, it loads in the old design rather than the site's newer version. What makes this add-on so handy is its ability to work whether you're logged in, in incognito mode, and even if your bookmarks are from the new site. You can switch to the new Reddit interface explicitly by visiting 'new.reddit.com'. Lastly, this add-on is free, open-source, and neutralises the EU cookie notice redirect to the new Reddit.

Add-on summary

Dislike Reddit's redesign? Old Reddit Redirect will ensure that you always load the old (old.reddit.com) design instead.

Forces all reddit.com links to old.reddit.com, including navigating to the site, opening links or using old bookmarks.

Unlike the account setting for turning off the design, this works regardless of whether you are logged in or not or in incognito mode. The extension also blocks the EU cookie notice that forces a redirect to new reddit.

You can still access new reddit, if you need, by explicitly loading new.reddit.com.

Old Reddit Redirect is free and open source. The code is available at github.com/tom-james-watson/old-reddit-redirect. Pull requests are more than welcome.

User reviews
This is a vital app for using reddit. However, I suggest an Improvement: in the extensions drop down menu, I would like an ON/OFF switch. I often find myself wanting to browse some subs in new reddit and others in old (I like big pics and I cannot Lie) nad I need to open the complete add-ons page and scroll down to this one just to switch between old and new. Until implemented, this Add-on has a 4/5 from me. Excellent work, small gripe.
