This extension displays the number of open tabs for each window on the button and the total number of open tabs (in all windows) in a tip. This is based on the extension by Hilary Mason.

2022-07-25	Louis Turtle		I have 2,748 open tabs. The icon should say "2.7k" Instead it says "274". This is not configurable, as there are no preferences.
2021-07-01	Ross Z		If all you want is to display the tab count, it will deliver. I had a little bit of a hard time making out the text on the badge but hovering over it, I could read the tooltip/pop-out text easily enough. This addon does not have a Preferences section so if you were hoping to customize background/foreground colors or increase the font size, better look elsewhere. For those use-cases, you might try: 'Tab Count Icon by lllusion3418', 'Tab Counter (Tilwa fork) by tqdv', or 'Tab Counter (fork) by vhfmag'
2021-04-25	Shajirr		This addon consumes enormous amounts of memory when you close multiple tabs. When I decided to close a group of 40 tabs, this addon consumed extra 3 GB of memory, and this memory was freed only after a minute. If you attempt to close a group with more tabs, it can just consume all your available memory and crash the browser.

2018-06-14	grahamperrin		Please make the name of the extension 'Open Tab Count'. It's a nice complement to Tab Tally, https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/tab-tally/ I do have Status-4-Evar (mentioned by previous reviewers) but it's not necessary for version 3.1 of Open Tab Count.
