What is Enhanced Image Viewer?
Enhanced Image Viewer is a Firefox add-on that enhances the browser's default image viewer with more scaling modes, easy rotation, configurable options, and the ability to remember settings. It also provides image information and allows for toggling of scaling mode and rotation. Default browser zoom can still be used, but may not work as expected for certain scaling modes. Bugs and feature requests can be reported on GitHub.

Enhanced Image Viewer

Enhances the browser's default image viewer with:

  • more scaling modes (configurable in the preferences - click toolbar button) to cycle through when left-clicking
  • easy rotation (in 90° steps) using l and r for left and right rotation respectively
  • scaling mode and rotation can be remembered so they are applied when opening other images
  • configurable background color (not currently working when opening the options panel using the toolbar button due to a bug in Firefox: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1378527 but it does work if you go to the extension page using ctrl-shift-a)
  • image information and information about scaling mode and rotation are briefly shown when opening an image and can be toggled by pressing i
