Summary

Hi there 👋 I'm Mihail and I'm a web developer based in London UK.

As a heavy LinkedIn user, I hated that I got so many posts in my feed that were just liked by someone in my network (cue all the motivational/outrage posts 😄). I'd have to scroll for minutes until I'd finally be able to find something a friend would publish and would be worth commenting on. So I rolled up my sleeves and made this extension 💪

📝 Features:

  • 2 switches for filtering out reactions (e.g. likes, loves, celebrates etc.) and promoted posts
  • stats for how many posts were deleted in the current day and in total
  • an amazing person behind it all (had to be said!)

🤐 NOT-SO-SECRET TIP - open the Web Console (Ctrl+Shift+K) while on LinkedIn and you'll see the posts that are being removed from your feed (see 2nd screenshot).

📖 The extension is open source, view its codebase here: https://github.com/mihailthebuilder/simplyfeed

🔎 FINAL NOTE - there might be some occasions where you don't see any posts loading up in your feed. It's because LinkedIn keeps spamming you with liked posts and the extension is doing its job filtering them out. Just scroll to the bottom and your feed should load with new posts.

Release 0.0.0.3 - made it work on Firefox!

Excellent work, I was trying to do this all myself with a mutationObserver and a userscript and for the life of me I couldn't get it to fire properly. So you're a life-saver ... I've even done a bit of userContent.css manipulation on the side, too! By the way, they've slipped a new one in there called 'finds this funny' ... grr, etc. XD

Quite possibly the greatest extension made for anything in the history of the world! This will save me months worth of time!
