Add-on summary

Search engine add-on so that the udm=14 parameter is automatically included in Google searches.

As of 22 May 2024, this parameter requests Google to return a more stripped down view for search results, omitting much of the additional junk inserted by allegedly AI processes.

This add-on was created solely to make it easier for me to use this parameter for default search. Uploaded in case it is of use to others.

After adding udm14 to Firefox, you can use Settings > Search > Default Search Engine to select it as the default.

If you are using Firefox on Android, addons of this type will not work, but you can add the same search engine as your default by modifying the instructions shown here for Startpage: https://support.startpage.com/hc/en-us/articles/4520868432788-Make-Startpage-your-default-search-engine-on-Firefox-mobile-Android with the following settings:

Name: whatever you like!

Search string URL: https://google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14

Search suggestions API URL: https://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search?client=firefox&q=%s
