| 2024-10-01 | JohnyJohny | | exactly the same problem as many people here. The app is excellent until the password doesn't work and you lost all your bookmarks. For me, it's the second time and I quite. It's mentionned that you have to make regulary backup but bookmarks are not enough critical to setup a professionnel backup process, we don't want to worry about backup. |

| 2024-09-09 | RH | | It works until it doesn't. I found exactly the same as many other reviewers: this add-on has a lot of great features, and it works well... until it doesn't. In my case, I observed a lengthy operation on Firefox's part (as Firefox is wont to do). That operation never let go... and Firefox crashed. On restart of Firefox, the Private Bookmarks password failed to work. Another restart, still no working password. As great as this add-on is, it has code that allows passwords and user access to get lost -> quite commonly, from all the reviews here. I highly recommend it, but only if you're using it for temporary or short-term bookmarks; it's simply not reliable enough for long-term use. |

| 2024-08-08 | Steve | | It worked great for months until it didn't. I'm not sure what broke it but possibly my MacOS upgrade to 14.6. Suddenly Firefox wouldn't respond to the Shift-Option-8 hotkey, which is where you enter your password. I tried reinstalling the add-on, rebooting, etc. Unfortunately, it's evident that I also lost all those private bookmarks in the process, which weren't so much private but archived in Private Bookmarks so they wouldn't be accidentally deleted. I filed a bug report with the developer last week but I haven't received an acknowledgement of it and the bug hasn't been assigned. |
