Add-on summary

WebSatchel allows users to save and store copies of webpages onto the cloud so you can access them later. Think of WebSatchel like bookmarking on steroids. We aim to create a revolutionary and modern take on bookmarking pages so that the content you care about is only a few clicks away and never disappears.

Unlike traditional bookmarking WebSatchel does not save just the link to a particular webpage, instead, it creates a full copy of the webpage allowing the user to have permanent access to the information in the exact format that it was saved. You no longer need to worry about your bookmark links being broken or seeing the “404 page not found” error.

The purpose of WebSatchel is to allow users to create a personal internet knowledge base. It's a place where you can copy anything you feel is important or has any kind of value and grow it over time. It should be viewed as a companion to your browsing experience. It’s more than just an alternative to bookmarking we want you to create your own book.

Once a page has been saved it can be viewed on the WebSatchel website under the “My Satchel” tab (Note: you must be logged in to see this tab and to save pages. Creating an account is free).

Sometimes when you bookmark something, the information is moved rather than deleted. It can be very frustrating navigating an entirely new layout to find that one key piece of information. Other times you might want to save a temporary page such as a confirmation order with an order number or a receipt. Regular bookmarks won't be able to help you here since access to the page is temporary, but with WebSatchel you need not worry about your bookmarks breaking.

Certain things don’t make sense to bookmark. Take an email for example. Bookmarking an email doesn’t make sense. You can spend time looking through your entire inbox for the email that you care about, or you could just WebSatchel it and find it much quicker when searching through your satchel.

There is also a strong emphasis on searching/organization. WebSatchel indexes every word on the page you save regardless if you save the whole page or just the link. This makes searching for your saved pages easy using our built-in search engine because you need not remember the title of a page - just any single relevant word or phrase would do. Imagine having hundreds of bookmarks and no easy way to navigate through them. WebSatchel solves this problem with ease.

read their joke of a "privacy" policy before installing this garbage

Been using this add-on for almost a week and it is working splendidly. Very impressed. Even the sites that return incomplete elements from the page or show an error message have provided an excellent copy of the page that seems to work fine. This is the second browser that I have installed the add-on.
