Summary

Increase the usefulness of tabs by adding the originating source of the current tab to your tab's history. That way, the next time you navigate back in a tab and reach the very first page, simply press "Back" one more time to go to the URL which originally launched the tab.

Easy and intuitive to use. And never lose track of a tab's source again.

Perfect for going down a rabbit hole of internet searches and then wanting to find out which website launched which tab.

Permission Disclosure:

  • Permission to access your data for all websites is needed, because it needs to store the originating URL as a history item in the current tab's history.

  • Permission to read your tabs is needed to read the URL and title of the originating tab.

  • Permission to access navigation activity is needed to know when a new tab is opened as a result of clicking on a link.

User reviews
Does its intended purpose, but breaks middle-clicking links to open them in a new tab. Tridactyl Shift-F to open links in a new tab still works, though.

Great! Any chance can this addon works with containers? I'm currently using extensions like Facebook container/ containerise that would make open webpages on separate containers. Is there any chance that we can keep the back/forth history regardless of that?
