Since you can register any sites, you can use it for various searches besides dictionaries and translations. You can search by using the clipboard string or the URL of the page. You can copy selected text, page URL, page title, link URL, link text to clipboard. Since you can specify the format to be copied, you can copy it in any format such as Markdown format or html anchor format.
The operation when looking up a dictionary is following the Dictionary Tooltip add-on which was very easy to use.
This add-on queries the web site that accepts the GET / POST method using the selected character string, the character string of the clipboard, the URL of an open web page, etc., and sends the returned result to the tooltip, panel, side Bar, other TAB, other windows, etc., or launching the subprocess of the local PC and passing the character string as an argument. With the ability to launch a sub-process, You can do something like AppLauncher and Open With. Since you can register any site you can also use it as bookmarks or Context Search X as well. You can specify multiple elements such as page URL and selected character string at the same time, so you can use Google site search like Site Searcher, Search Site WE or Search the current site.
The web site to ask inquiries is not limited to dictionaries and translation sites, but anywhere you can use GET / POST methods such as google search, youtube etc.
Settings for the dictionary / search services, such as which character string to use, where to send it and where to display the results must be written in a text file in JSON format. The syntax used in this file is simple. Please use Unicode UTF-8 for the character code of the file. Shift_JIS garbled characters. There is no GUI related to the setting of the dictionary service.
