One look at the repeat patterning on these two Valentines Personas, and you might wonder what IS natural about this design! Well, the Petunias are, and the hearts almost are! I took one of my photographs, and studied it. There were red leaves in it that made me think of heart shapes. I used an outlined Heart Brush to enhance the shape, but the basic heart shape was already in the leaf. The red in the heart(s) is made entirely from the actual leaves in my photo. I darkened the red leaves around it for better contrast. That didn't do the job entirely. I ended up cutting out my leafy heart, and brightening it up a bit. I then put my photo end on end to get the repeat patterning. I liked the way the bottom of my Persona came out. So I switched the two halves and filled in the leafy green areas, for the 2nd design. Making these was a great learning experience for me. I decided that my 1st try was more vibrant than peaceful. Here's a 2nd option. It's the 2nd Persona I've finished since the one I made for my sister Jayne. She lives in Japan and was working in Tokyo when the earthquake hit. She is fine. I'm the wreck! This one's deeper hued and calmer. Purple & blue violet are the main shades. You are welcome to put it on, take a deep breath, and relax. I'll try to relax too. I photographed this flower 5 years ago. I can't remember what it is. A daisy? A black eyed Susan? If I ever figure it out, I will list the name here. The flower looked a bit lonely to me so I decided to include a butterfly or 2. After I finished making it, I realized that I also used butterflies in the 1st Persona I ever created for Firefox! I have made a bright Orange Spiderweb for the Holiday Category, and also a paler variation of it for the Solid category. All of you Solid Fans out there should get a chance to celebrate Halloween on your browser without being too distracted by it. I think you will like the pale version. Wow, I DID it! I tried making another Solids Persona & I actually Like it, even though it's only one color. I think this is the most solid Solids Persona that I have ever made! I'm happy to say that the tool bars are very readable, & the green color is actually relaxing. I'm starting to understand why people make these Solid Personas. I was experimenting with file sizes and richly colored gradients again, and I stopped in mid experiment when I saw this pattern. I was able to get the file size below 300 KB and here is the result. As Bob Ross, the Joy of Painting Artist used to say, this persona was a “Happy Accident.” I wish he was still living. This is my 3rd Persona. I had created a very vibrant “Star Swirl” one the day before. I decided to follow up with a softer colored one. This one's a good choice for anyone who is unhappy, depressed, or suffering from depression. The colors are peaceful and cheering. I'm grateful to my son—without him these two Collie personas never would have happened. When I finally learn how to use GIMP, I plan to create many more collie related personas. God's Love is better than Valentines, because it is perfect, unconditional, and lasts forever. Here is one of the most beautiful descriptions of love ever written--from the Bible's New Testament.. UPDATE: I now have 2 versions of this Persona. My original is rough in texture with vibrant colors. My 2nd one is more blended with muted color. I am curious about which one will be better liked. Spring has officially arrived, according to the calendar. All around me trees are bursting out in leafy agreement, so I made a Persona to reflect that. Being different isn't easy. I'm more jumpy than most people. (A small sound can cause me to duck or Scream!) At times people get mad at me & I'm puzzled why.. I don't “read”people well. I shot a photograph of these leaves in my backyard. When I saw the contrasting colors & patterns, I got excited. Surely I could make a nice Persona with it! I sent rabbit, squirrel & flower photos to the back of the line. But the picture was so short...Could I make a repeating pattern of it? Yes I could! I've always loved Marshmellow Peeps. When I found these little plush rascals in my Easter basket, I was delighted. Not only were they calorie free, I knew I'd be able to keep them for years! When I dream, I dream in color. I took it for granted for a long time that everybody did, but I guess that isn't true. Maybe that is one of the reasons I love colors so much.
